Run one of the many broadband speed tests available on the Internet. Some are listed on the Synovative Web site Download page. Try the benchmark from PC magizine.

While at your desktop, run the SOUP StartUp Assistant. [Start==>All Programs==>synovative==>StartUp] If you have your LAN activity system tray icon configured properly, you will see a message as the StartUp Assistant first disconnects you from the LAN and then an additional message as it re-connects to the LAN.

Check your broadband router logon. Point your browers to http://192.168.1.1. A logon screen should appear. The userid is usually blank. Make sure the password is not "admin," the default value. If you are still using "admin" for a password, change it after you login.
